 Yes — 100%! Poker For Pups partners only with licensed poker rooms and legal card houses in Texas. All events follow local laws and venue policies. 

Yes! Events are open to all players aged 18+ (or 21+, depending on the venue’s rules). 

 Just yourself and have a good time. The poker room provides all chips, cards, and dealers.
Optional: You can bring items to donate to partnering shelters (food, treats, supplies). 

 We partner with Dallas-area rescues that are:

• Active in saving homeless dogs
• Transparent with their operations
• In need of community support
• Local, small, and hands-on

Yes. When possible, the hosting venue will submit the event. 

All charity portions of buy-ins are paid directly to the rescue at the end of each event. PokerForPups does not touch or hold charity funds.

 Poker For Pups partners directly with rescues, shelters, and sponsors. We are not a nonprofit — instead, we’re a charitable business that creates events where a portion of every buy-in goes directly to helping pups in need. 

 Yes! Throughout the year, winners from designated Poker For Pups events earn seats to the 2026 Championship Invitational.
The Grand Prize is a WSOP Main Event seat (or cash equivalent)

 We publish donation totals after every event. Rescue partners confirm receipt directly. Poker For Pups never holds charity funds. 

Nope. Charity funds go 100% to rescues and/or shelters. 

 Poker rooms can host a Poker For Pups event by contacting us through the Host an Event form or emailing us directly. We handle the full charity structure, event formatting, and rescue coordination.
Your room simply provides:

• A date and start time
• Standard tournament setup
• Dealer staff
• Charity portion agreement
   

We supply all branding, charity materials, formatting guidance, and help promote the event. Hosting is simple, turnkey, and great for community engagement and traffic.

 Poker For Pups launched in Dallas and currently focuses on local rescues and card rooms. We plan to expand into additional Texas cities — and eventually nationwide — as more venues request events. Stay tuned!

 Poker For Pups events are built around structured charity tournaments, which is where the charity buy-in portion comes from.
Some venues or games may run optional cash-game promotions during the event (splash pots, high-hand bonuses, add-on or rebuys, etc.), but this is entirely optional and separate from charity contributions. 

If an event reaches maximum capacity, the hosting poker room may:

• Add alternate
• Increase table count (if space allows)
• Offer a second flight or additional seating
• Open a waitlist for the next Poker For Pups event
   

We recommend arriving early for events, as seats often fill fast.

Throughout 2026, main Poker For Pups events award qualifying spots to the top finishers. Anyone who earns a qualifying seat is invited to the 2026 Poker For Pups Invitational, a special event where qualifiers compete for the WSOP Main Event seat (or cash equivalent).

Texas Hold ’Em is the backbone and main structure of all Poker For Pups events.
Some events may include variations such as bounty tournaments, last-man-standing formats, and other specialty structures depending on the hosting venue. Any variant or changes will be announced in advance
